5 Days Kilimanjaro Trek Experience – Marangu Route

Challenge yourself with a 5-day trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, via the popular Marangu Route — also known as the “Coca-Cola Route.” This is the only route that offers hut accommodation, making it a comfortable and scenic choice for climbers seeking a slightly less rugged experience.

The Marangu Route passes through lush rainforests, heath and moorland zones, and alpine desert, before reaching the icy summit of Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Our experienced mountain guides, porters, and chefs will support you every step of the way, ensuring your safety and comfort throughout the journey.

Ideal for first-time trekkers and those with limited time, this 5-day adventure is a fast-paced but rewarding way to conquer Kilimanjaro.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut (2,700m)

Drive from Moshi/Arusha to Marangu Gate, Trek through rainforest (~4–5 hours), overnight at Mandara Hut

Day 2: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut (3,720m)

Trek through moorland landscape (~5–6 hours). Views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, overnight at Horombo Hut

Day 3: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut (4,700m)

Trek across the alpine desert (~5–6 hours). Rest and prepare for summit night. Overnight at Kibo Hut

Day 4: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Horombo Hut

Midnight ascent to Gilman’s Point and Uhuru Peak, Sunrise at the summit, Descend to Horombo Hut for overnight

Day 5: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Return to Moshi/Arusha

Final descent through rainforest (~5–6 hours), Certificate ceremony, and transfer back to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi town.
