Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari representative and transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

The journey takes you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, offering stunning views of rolling hills, local communities, and scenic landscapes.

Arrive in Bwindi late in the afternoon, check in at your lodge, enjoy lunch, and spend the evening relaxing while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the rainforest.

Bwindi offers a magical atmosphere where you can fall asleep to the sounds of birds, flowing streams, and the natural rhythms of the forest.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Rainforest & Batwa Community Visit

After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and guidelines for gorilla trekking.

You will meet the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers and be assigned to a gorilla trekking group before beginning your adventure into the dense tropical rainforest.

The trek offers incredible opportunities to encounter various wildlife species, including:

• Other primates
• Birds
• Butterflies
• Unique forest plants and vegetation

Gorilla trekking requires a reasonable level of physical fitness as the terrain involves hiking through hills and forest trails.

The trek may take approximately 2–8 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them as they go about their daily activities, including feeding, playing, and resting.

Visitors are advised to maintain a respectful distance, avoid noise, and not use flash photography as it may disturb the gorillas.

After the trek, return to your lodge to relax.

In the evening, visit the Batwa Community for a cultural experience. You will learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Batwa people, visit their school, explore the women’s craft shop, and learn how their local brew is prepared.

Enjoy traditional dances performed by men, women, and children before returning to your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin the journey to Kibale National Park, home of Uganda’s famous chimpanzees. The drive takes approximately 7 hours, passing through beautiful landscapes, including the scenic hills of Kabale and local communities practicing agriculture on the hillsides.

Along the way, you will have opportunities to stop for photographs and enjoy Uganda’s peaceful countryside scenery.

Arrive at Kibale in the late afternoon and check into your preferred lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer to Kampala / Entebbe

After an early breakfast, proceed to Kibale Forest National Park for your chimpanzee trekking adventure. During the trek, you will explore the rainforest while searching for chimpanzees and other primate species, including:

• Baboons
• Black and white colobus monkeys
• Grey-cheeked mangabeys
• Red colobus monkeys
• Blue monkeys
• L’Hoest’s monkeys

Once you find the chimpanzees, enjoy watching them feed, play, communicate, and move through the forest canopy. Remember to keep your camera ready to capture unforgettable moments of this incredible wildlife experience.

After the trek, return to the lodge before beginning your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, arriving in the evening.
