Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation at 7:00 AM for a short safari briefing before beginning the approximately 9-hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Along the way, you will make a stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs and an opportunity to purchase local crafts. Continue the journey with a lunch stop in Mbarara before proceeding through Uganda’s spectacular countryside, characterized by rolling hills, terraced landscapes, and beautiful scenery.

Arrive in Kabale, famously known as the “Switzerland of Africa,” before continuing to your lodge near Bwindi.

Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking Experience & Batwa Community Visit

After an early breakfast, depart with your packed lunch and head to the park headquarters by 7:00 AM for a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Begin your first gorilla trekking adventure through the dense rainforest of Bwindi. The trek may take 2–6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family.

Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for some relaxation before visiting the nearby Batwa Community in the evening for an authentic cultural experience.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking Experience & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, collect your packed lunch and return to the park headquarters for your second gorilla trekking experience. Today’s trek follows the same procedure as the previous day, but you will track a different habituated gorilla family, giving you a completely new and unique wildlife encounter.

After the trek, depart for the spectacular Lake Bunyonyi, home to 29 scenic islands and renowned for its rich birdlife. The lake is bilharzia-free, making it one of the few lakes in East Africa that is safe for swimming.

Day 4: Canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi & Departure

Enjoy breakfast before setting out on a relaxing canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi.

Explore several of the lake’s beautiful islands while enjoying breathtaking views of the terraced hills, abundant birdlife, and peaceful surroundings. After the excursion, begin your return journey to Kampala, stopping for lunch en route.

Arrive in the evening, where your guide will transfer you to your accommodation in Entebbe.
